As an extra reading task, today we are actually going to listen to someone else read a story to us. Our reading focus this week is Vocabulary. Try to take note of any new words that you have never heard before. 2 or 3 words would be perfect. Once the story is finished, go onto Dictionary.com to find out what the words mean. You could also use Thesaurus.com to find out synonyms for your new words.

Maths Time: Some days to get out of class we play a game where the kids have to guess the number that I have in my head. Great news, now you can play it without me. Click on the link and have a go at the different difficulty settings. 1-100 is a great starting point.

Maths: We’re always trying to improve our Times Tables. This game will help you to do that. Steer your worm around to eat up the correct answers, just don’t crash into the other worms.

Art Time: The ‘Art for Kids Hub’ on Youtube is a great resource for videos that teach you how to draw. It’s been freezing lately, and whilst is isn’t snowing, I thought that drawing a Winter Landscape seemed relevant. Watch the video below and have a go at making your own Winter Art. (they use paint to ad stars so you may need to get creative!

Art: Recreating art. Just because we are stuck at home doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun. Recreating Art is an exciting way to show your creativity. Click the link to see some examples of people recreating famous artworks.

Quite funny aren’t they? Now it’s your turn. Now it’s your turn. Below is a painting titled ‘American Gothic’ by American Painter Grant Wood. Try to dress and gather objects around the house to allow you to look as close as you can to the painting. Ask Mum or Dad to take the photo and if possible, Send it to Mr Collins.
